EZ House & Café, strangely enough, looks much better in person than in online photos - the lobby looks like someone's house (and it is, run by a lovely family), but we were pleasantly surprised by the room! We paid just
450 baht for a decent-sized
air-conditioned double room and it's absolutely spotless!
Wifi works very well.
Even though we checked in at almost 10 pm, the owner gave us a map and patiently explained where everything is and the points of interest nearby. He even offered to lend us
bicycles for free so we can
cycle 5 minutes into town (
10 minutes to walk) where there are more shops. It can be booked online via
agoda or
booking.com. When you check in, you need to leave a
200 baht deposit for the
key.
Despite the fact that it's by the main street across from a Shell gas station, it is very quiet. There is a
closet, a
TV, and a
small fridge in the room. The door has a draft excluder to stop bugs from getting in.The decor may not be the most modern, but it's clean and comfortable - a great value! They also bring by 2 new bottles of water everyday - unexpected for a hotel under 500 baht! We had a wonderful week here. There is no elevator though.
Laundry is
50 baht per kg.
7-11 is a
7-minute walk down the street. The
bus stop to Old Sukothai is directly across the street - the bus ride is
15 minutes and costs
30 baht. A 10-minute walk to the east, more shops and a night market in
New Sukhothai offer more food options. There's a
cafe downstairs serving simple breakfast (good pancakes) and nice drinks starting from
7:30 am.
Sukhothai Bus Terminal where you can catch buses elsewhere (
Bangkok,
Chiang Mai, or
Si Satchanalai Historical Park...) is a
5-minute 50-baht tuk tuk ride away, or you can
walk there in
25 minutes.
